Travertine Cobblestone Driveway Paver - Loose or Mesh Back - Natural Stone - Cream
Travertine Cobblestone Driveway Paver - Natural Stone - Cream comes two ways, and the one you pick decides how long the job takes. Travertine weathers naturally over time rather than looking worn.
Two Formats
| LOOSE PIECES |
100x100x30mm โ individual cobbles, sold by the square metre and delivered loose. Laid piece by piece, so you set your own pattern and joint width. Thicker stone, and the traditional way to do it. |
| MESH BACK SHEETS |
90x90x20mm, 9 cobbles per sheet โ pre-set on a mesh backing sheet, sold by the square metre. Lays by the sheet instead of by the stone. |
Why Mesh Back Is Worth It
- Laid by the sheet, not the stone. Nine cobbles go down at once, so a paver covers square metres at a time instead of placing individual pieces.
- Consistent joints without spacers. The formation is fixed on the sheet, so the pattern stays true across the whole area and there is no drifting line to correct later.
- Far less labour on site. Loose cobblestone is slow, skilled work โ labour is where the real cost of a cobblestone driveway sits. Mesh back cuts that down sharply.
- Cuts cleanly around edges. Sheets trim with a blade through the mesh and the cobbles stay usable, so curves, garden beds and drainage points are straightforward.

Care & Installation
Travertine is a calcareous stone, which means it reacts to acid. Lemon, vinegar, wine, most bathroom and toilet cleaners, and any acidic product will etch the surface permanently, even where the stone has been sealed. Sealing makes the stone more resistant to staining, it does not stop etching and it does not make the stone stain-proof.
Clean with a neutral pH stone cleaner, warm water and a soft cloth or mild dishwashing detergent, then rinse and dry. Avoid scouring powders and any abrasive cleaner, and never mix ammonia and bleach; used together they create a toxic gas.
Reseal when water stops beading on the surface rather than to a fixed schedule.
Both formats are laid on a full mortar bed, never on adhesive dabs; dab-bedding causes reflective staining that can't be reversed. With mesh back, bed the sheet so mortar keys through the mesh. Carry structural control joints through to the surface as flexible movement joints. Ask us for the recommended base and grout for your specific application before you start.

m2Loose stone cladding can be installed in two main ways: dry stacked or grouted. Each method creates a distinct visual effect and comes with its own set of practical advantages.
Dry stacking means laying the stone edge to edge without visible mortar joints on the surface.
Creates a tighter, cleaner finish that puts the natural stone front and centre. Offers a more modern, architectural look with strong shadow lines.
Best for internal walls, fireplaces, or protected outdoor features where minimal movement or moisture is expected. Highlights the shape, texture, and variation of each individual stone piece.
Requires more time and skill in placement, especially with irregular pieces.
Grouting fills the joints between the stones with mortar โ this can be raked back, flush, or even over-grouted depending on the style.
Softens the overall look, making it more traditional or rustic depending on grout colour.
Adds contrast or colour definition โ light grout can brighten the wall, dark grout can deepen the pattern.
Helps to stabilise and bind the pieces, especially useful for exterior or load-exposed walls.
More forgiving on less precise layouts or irregular edges.
Typically a bit easier for landscapers or DIYers to work with over large surface areas
